What is the EcoDesign Challenge?

It is an original exam for students of the MASTER IMEDD (Master in Engineering and Management of the Environment and Sustainable Development) of the UTT, organised by the CREIDD team in partnership with Altermaker (a software-assisted eco-design studio) and the Technopole de l'Aube (start-up incubator). The exam is structured in a workshop format, which aims to validate skills in a different and concrete way by working on projects directly proposed by entrepreneurs or companies.

Over a limited period, teams of 3 to 7 students must invent or reinvent an everyday object or service to make it innovative and above all eco-responsible. Brainstorming, visual creations, budget calculations, strategic orientations, competitive analyses… the students must put their project together from scratch in order to be able to present it to a jury.

Each team presents their final outcomes in a video format, while detailing the strategic and budgetary orientations in front of a jury in charge of electing the lucky winners.

The winner of this first edition of the Eco Design Challenge was finally the eco-sports hall, which distinguished itself by its system for collecting the energy spent on the various machines in order to be completely autonomous. In addition, this room of the future aims to be vegetated and goes further by offering eco-responsible nutritional support for its subscribers (personalized menus, cooking workshops, etc.). The eco-social network and the ecological printer then completed the podium of this competition.
